Clive James & Pete Atkin: At It Again!

Back in the seventies, Clive and Pete together wrote s couple of hundred quirky, orginal, and always entertaining songs, and Pete recorded many of them on half a dozen highly collectable LPs. A few years ago, after a gap of more than twenty years --a gap which Clive had filled by becoming a best selling author and a fixture on UK television, and which Pete had filled by waiting for Clive to get bored with TV and writing books their old fans found each other through the internet and it became clear that their songs were far from forgotten. As a result, the old albums were reissued on CD, and Clive and Pete revived their onstage partnership with a show in which Clive framed Pet’s performances of the songs with his trademark wit and highlights from his hilarious memoirs and other writings.

After instantly sold –out couple of gigs on the 2001 Edinburgh Fringe, they embarked on a hugely successful 30-date tour in 2002, followed by another in 2003 plus a tour of Australia and the Far East.

Getting back on the road has led to lots of brand new material, so their new show for 2005 is guaranteed to contain plenty of the unexpected as well as old favourites. But its all sure to be funny, surprising, lyrical, and uniquely enjoyable. However it will probably be impossible to stop Clive singing at some point.
